Traditional Greek food is well served and has good portions! The grilled liver was amazing!Ask if they have lamb from the oven… the best lamb we’ve ever tried! And off the lamb chops were super good!Dessert is on the house!
A local gem!The four of us ate here twice during our 9 days in Athens and both times the place was busy.Beautiful meat selection, we enjoyed steak, veal and chicken dishes. The veal filet was a real standout as was the free brownie at the end of the meal - delicious!Very affordable prices and excellent service. Highly recommended!
The best in the neighborhood, host was super friendly and attentive. The food is next level delicious, highly recommend the veal liver and fried zucchini.
Μαύρος Γάτος (Black Cat) came highly recommended by two professionals I trust: Sakis, the Chef at Zohos, and Vagelis of Lost Roots wine bar. When these highly-rated creators point you somewhere, you go! Dig?The moment you walk in, the space hits different: a gleaming vitrine of fine meats, walls adorned with traditional murals and artisan crafts. Old-world elegance meets timeless sophistication.Their veal liver is a masterpiece of simplicity: wrapped in silky lamb suet, kissed with garlic olive oil and rock salt. Cut into it and the perfectly pink center releases juices that mingle with the golden oil - creating pure magic on your plate. The busy atmosphere only adds to the experience. The staff nail that perfect Greek hospitality - attentive but natural, making sure you're having a great time in a way that feels completely unscripted.Amaaazziing place. But it's not for the weak P.S.: Make that reservation, especially for weekends. Trust.
THE best restaurant in Athens without question. Excellent traditional Greek cuisines at fabulous prices. Even the house wine is fantastic.I don't say this lightly but you MUST visit this secret gem! It maybe hidden but it gets very busy with the locals especially on the weekend.I recommend the lamb cutlets, fried aubergines and the chicken KontoSouvli (I don't know the English word for this).
Super tasty greek food at affordable price! We had tzatziki with bread and fried zucchini as starters. As main dishes lamb chops and pork souvlaki, both were tasty and juicy (properly cooked), also the two of them came with a generous amount of fries. We paid 35 for a super nice meal with friendly service and they brought us a small dessert on the house when asking for the bill (is a tradition some greek tavernas do)
Even though it was busy i was given a seat. The waiter went out of his way to explain the menu and proposed wonderful dishes. The food was fresh and hearty. A very good experience and very affordable.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. It was a warm lovely in a winter evening . We were quite hungry so we didn’t take pictures of the food. They were kind enough to take us in without a reservation. And we got cookied as a compliment at the end of our dinner.
